FIREBLOCK AVERT
FIREBLOCK AVERT is a unique firefighting gel and fire retardant that can be used to fight fires directly or be used as a fire retardant by spraying the non-burnt areas (i.e. grass bush ) with a protective layer of gel. It can be used on any Class A fires.
NOT FOR USE ON ELECTRICAL OR CHEMICAL FIRES.
It is supplied in powder form (1,25 kg resealable bag). The powder is then mixed with water as per the instructions on the packaging, until a reaction occurs, and a consistency similar to a gel-like substance is achieved. Makes: 600L – 1000L
FIREBLOCK AVERT is not chemical in composition, and is non-toxic and biodegradable, ensuring that it is environmentally friendly.
Fire Fighting Gel
As a fire fighting gel it is sprayed directly into the fire. Fireblock AVERT has exceptional properties that cool the fires down drastically and kills it instantly, preventing embers from reigniting. The product goes approximately 6 times further than conventional water – so results in less water, fuel and labour required to fight a fire. (mix at a ratio of 1000l / 1.25kg)
Fire Retardant
FIREBLOCK AVERT is an excellent product to use as fire breaks, it can be sprayed quick and easily, along a line and the non-sprayed area is then lit. The fire stops on reaching the sprayed area, making this a remarkable, easy way to control the fire. (mixes as a ratio of 600l / 1.25kg)
FIREBLOCK AVERT can be sprayed onto thatch roofs before an oncoming fire reaches the area, FIREBLOCK AVERT will protect the thatch from catching alight even if burning embers fall on it. THIS IS NOT A LONG LASTING PROTECTION and is used on imminent fires only.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
- Fill 600L – 1000L Tank with water
- Open the bag
- Start pump and spray nozzle back into the tank
- Release powder slowly into the tank whilst spraying
- Once the powder is mixed into the water, leave it for 4 minutes to activate
PUMPS
Fireblock AVERT can be used with LOW PRESSURE, MEDIUM PRESSURE and HIGH PRESSURE piston pump.
When using a HIGH PRESSURE piston pump is recommended to premix FIREBLOCK AVERT into a separate tank and then pumping it over into the fire fighting unit. It is also recommended that the filter get changed to an alternative filter (See picture below)
APPLICATION AND STORAGE
Coverage of the product is between 10-15m2 depending on how thick one sprays it, the terrain and water quality and costs approx. 50c per a square metre.
The Period of protection can be up to 4 hours depending on the thickness sprayed as well as environmental factors such as sunshine and rain.
FIREBLOCK AVERT once mixed can be kept in a tank ready for use for a period up to 3 years. The product improves over time, and it is suggested that a holding tank is installed on your property if used in large quantities.
